WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING.

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a Wind Advisory…which is in effect from 11 AM this morning to 8 PM EDT this evening. Southwesterly wind gusts over 45 MPH are possible later this morning and through the afternoon.

A low  pressure system will track from Wisconsin through Northern Lower Michigan today. A cold front associated with this system will track through the region today. A few showers or thunderstorms may accompany the passage.  Strong gusty winds today may occasionally top 40 mph.  A fair weather system will lead to dry conditions for much of the Great Lakes region on Friday. Another low pressure system moves in for the weekend leading to weather.

Today:   Windy. Mostly sunny until midday then becoming partly sunny. A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the mid 80s. Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts to around 45 mph.

Tonight:  Partly cloudy. Lows in the mid 40s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph becoming north overnight. Gusts up to 25 mph.

Friday:  Partly sunny. Highs in the mid 60s. Northeast winds around 10 mph.

Wednesday’s high temperature in Jackson was 85 at 1:37 PM, the low was 68 at 5:12 AM.  Highest relative humidity was 68%.

Normal high for today is 70.  The record low is 30, set in 1973.  The record high is 90, set in 1962.

Highest wind speed yesterday was 28 MPH, with highest gust at 39 MPH.
