The Jackson County Rose Festival is seeking Grand Marshal nominations for the 59th Annual Jackson County Rose Parade. The 2017 Jackson County Rose Parade and Picnic in the Park will be held Sunday June 4th starting at 1:00pm.  The Picnic in the Park will commence immediately after the parade.   The parade route will begin in downtown Jackson on South Jackson St. and Mason St. (near Austin Blair Park) and end at the Picnic in the Park inside Ella Sharp Park.  This year’s parade theme is “Let’s go to the Movies”.

Part of the Jackson County Rose Parade tradition is selecting a Grand Marshal.  The Grand Marshal is again graciously sponsored by Lloyd Ganton retirement Centers.

According to the Rose Festival, Individuals nominated for Grand Marshal should be residents who have given back to the community through service to city, county, state or country.  In a news release, the Festival stated, “There are so many Jackson residents who make a difference for this community, and it is important that our citizens have a voice in the selection of the Grand Marshal.”

Nominations for Grand Marshal are being accepted and can be submitted on the Rose Festival website (http://jacksonrosefestival.org/parade/). Then find the Grand Marshal nomination icon on your right, enter your Grand Marshal candidate’s information and click submit.

The Parade committee is still seeking volunteers for the day’s activities.  To volunteer, write to the committee here: roseparadepicnic@gmail.com
