The Jackson County Fair has announced the latest act scheduled for this summer’s entertainment lineup.  “Roots ‘n’ Boots Country Jam” starring Sammy Kershaw, Aaron Tippin, and Mark Chestnutt will perform unplugged classic country at the Jackson County Fair on Wednesday, August 9th, 2017 at 7 p.m.

Sammy Kershaw is a triple-platinum selling country artist from Kaplan, Louisiana.  He has released 10 studio albums, of which the 1993 album “Haunted Heart” spawned the Number One single “She Don’t Know She’s Beautiful.”  With a formidable list of accomplishments behind him, Kershaw has expressed a strong desire to drive forward creating new music.  His latest offering, “The Blues Got Me,” was released in May 2016.

Aaron Tippin is a country music legend hailing from Pensacola, Florida.  Since his initial signing with RCA Nashville in 1990, Tippin has charted over thirty singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs list.  He scored three Number Ones with “There Ain’t Nothin’ Wrong with the Radio” (1992), “That’s as Close as I’ll Get to Loving You” (1995), and “Kiss This” (2000).  Celebrating 25 years as a recording artist, the album “Aaron Tippin 25” was released in 2015 under his own label, Nippit Records.

Mark Chestnutt has recorded fourteen studio albums since 1988.  Three of his albums, “Too Cold at Home” (1990), “Longnecks & Short Stories” (1992), and “What a Way to Live” (1993) are certified platinum.  His cover of Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” crossed over to the mainstream reaching #17 on the Billboard Hot 100. Chestnutt has sold over ten million records worldwide.
