Jackson College invites the community to campus for Free College Day on Saturday, July 8 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This is the community’s chance to visit the College, check out the campus, and enjoy the fun and informative classes taught by College faculty and staff.

Explore a personal interest or learn about college programs. Free College Day will run from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. First sessions will run from 10-10:45 a.m., followed by a culinary demonstration from 11:15 a.m. to noon. Second sessions will run from 12:30-1:15 p.m. Sessions will include:

  • Beginning Yoga
  • What to Expect in College
  • Cyber Security
  • Family Road Trips
  • Leave Your Mark
  • Social Media Safety
  • Pasta Making Demonstration
  • Cheese Making
  • Find Your Identity: Cardboard Mask Making
  • Genealogy
  • Introduction to World Travel
  • Stress Management With Yoga

Continuing sessions will include:

  • Automotive Shop Experience
  • Hands-On CPR
  • What’s That Overhead? Drones
  • Zumba
  • Multiple selfie photo stations and a free hot dog station
  • Campus Tours

“This special event is our way of giving back to the community while offering learning opportunities that are fun and informative,” said Tina Matz, director of workforce training. “We encourage the community to come and check out what’s offered and learn more about their community college.”
