The Michigan Theatre presents the Kiwanis Summer Kids Film Series today at 10am and 2pm.  This week’s movie is The Lego Batman Movie.  Admission is $1 and doors open one half hour before film.

The Grass Lake Farmers Market is open today at the Depot in downtown Grass Lake.  Hours are 4pm to 7pm.  Live entertainment is featured every Wednesday evening during Market hours.

Allskate Fun Center presents  Wednesday Afternoon Skate & Laser Tag from 1-4pm. Admission is only $6 and skate rental is $4 (Skates or Blades).  Laser Tag:  1 play $5  |  Double play $8.  Family & Group Rates available.   Allskate Fun Center, 1313 West North Street, Jackson.

The City of Jackson Human Relations Commission presents the 2017 City Official Candidates Forum tonight at 6:30 at City Hall.  The forum will be held in City Council Chambers, 2nd Floor.  You’re invited to meet the candidates for this year’s city elections, including Mayoral and City Council Candidates.  Hear each candidate answer written questions from the public and express their positions on issues affecting the City of Jackson.  Moderated by the City of Jackson Human Relations Commission.

Cascades Family Night Concert Series continues tonight at 7pm at The Cascades.  JD Boone and FLYTE will delight you with their informal and interactive classic rock format. Maybe they will give you a chance to play “Stump The Band!”  Admission is $10 per family.

Sarah Langford Summer Concert Benefit Series.  Sarah Langford will be performing a series of benefit recitals. On Wednesday, July 26 at 7:00pm, she will be performing a recital to benefit the Jackson Youth Symphony Orchestra. The program will include: Telemann Fantasies for Solo Violin, No. 1 and No. 9 Beethoven Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 5 Prokofiev Sonata for Solo Violin Paganini Caprice No. 16 Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso.  The Concert is at Jackson Symphony Orchestra’s Weatherwax Hall, Downtown Jackson.  A donation is suggested.

The Nixon Water Park has open swim sessions today from 11am to 2pm, 2:15pm to 5:15pm and 5:30pm to 7pm.  Morning and afternoon sessions are $4 per person, evening session is $2 per person.  Nixon Park is home to Nixon Water Park and Nixon Skate Park, one of 26 parks with amazing features in the City of Jackson.  The park includes both the Water Park and Skate Park, plus roller blade arena, four softball fields and a picnic area with shelter.
