2045 Long Range Transportation Plan.  Staff from the Region 2 Planning Commission and the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) have been working on the results of the travel demand model over the last several months. The travel demand model is a valuable tool used in the transportation planning process to identify road capacity deficiencies on the road system within Jackson County/Jackson Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO).  This information will be presented and used to start the conversation about what roadway expansion projects should (or should not be) considered for the area at the next 2045 Long Range Transportation Plan Steering Committee Meeting. You are invited to attend this meeting, which will be on Thursday, October 19 from 1:30 – 2:30 on Floor 17 at the County Tower Building at 120 West Michigan Avenue, Jackson.  The results of this discussion will ultimately determine what projects are identified on the project list for Federal Eligible Roads. (A list of the previous plan’s – the 2040 Long Range Transportation Plan – project list is available here: http://www.region2planning.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/chap12.TranspDeficiencies.pdf on page 16/24.)  Please contact Tanya DeOliveira, Principal Transportation Planner, with questions or for more information at tdeoliveira@co.jackson.mi.us or 517.745.9041 or see the project website:  http://www.region2planning.com/long-range-transportation-plan/
