The Green Market at Henry Ford Allegiance Health is open today from 9am to 2pm (and every Thursday) at the corner of East Michigan Avenue and Waterloo (across from the main hospital building).  Featuring local and organic produce and other products from a variety of farmers and vendors.

The Jackson Recreation Department presents Senior Splash at Nixon Water Park, today from 9am to 10:30am.  Warm, therapeutic recreation for senior citizens.  Zero depth entrance.  Cost is $2 per session.  This will be held every Tuesday and Thursday morning during the summer.

The 60th Annual Michigan Center Lions Carp Carnival begins today at 12N.  This 4 day event features carnival rides and midway, live music and tons of vendors.  This years carp fishing tournament has a $1,000 tagged fish released.  The Carp Carnival is held in Leoni Township Park on Michigan Center Lake. 

The Kiwanis  of Brooklyn and Jackson present Summer Kids Film Series at the Michigan Theatre of Jackson. Movies will be presented on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays only. $1.00 admission for all ages. Show times at 10am and 2pm.  This week’s movie is Disney’s Moana.  For more information call (517) 783-0811.

The Eastern Branch of the Jackson District Library presents “Classic Disney” today at 2pm at the Eastern Branch, 3125 East Michigan Avenue.  Today’s film is Bedknobs and Broomsticks.  All ages welcome, widescreen, comfortable seats and popcorn too!  Free admission.

The Jackson Symphony Orchestra Affinity Series presents BJ Barham (from American Aquarium) at Weatherwax Hall, downtown Jackson.  Showtime is 8pm.  Doors open at 7:30 PM  $15 in advance / $18 at the door.  Opening for BJ Barham is Americana singer-songwriter Ed Dupas. 

The Great Lakes Cloggers start a new class for beginners tonight and every Thursday from 5:30pm to 6:15pm.  If you can walk, you can clog!. Learn America’s own step dance! All ages welcome. Family’s encouraged. Ella Sharp Museum presents its weekly Ella’s Patio Party, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the Museum patio.   Please join us again this season on Thursday evenings for live music, a snack, and a drink. Take a stroll through our Exhibit Galleries and our sculpture-filled grounds while you’re here!  Sponsored by Rehmann.  Entertainment tonight by Brian Tucker and Tony Riske.

Jackson City Councilmember Dan Greer is hosting “Dialogue with Dan”, tonight at 7pm at Northeast Elementary School cafeteria, 1024 Fleming Avenue, Jackson.  Along with Dan Greer, City Police Chief Elmer Hitt, Code Enforcement Officer Shane LaPorte and City Manager Patrick Burtch will be in attendance.  The meeting is open to the public and all residents are invited to attend.

Zumba Under the Stars begins tonight at The Cascades.  A Jackson County Parks and Public Health Initiative event, sponsored by Jackson County Parks, Jackson County Health Department and the Jackson YMCA.  Join the party, starting at 9pm inside The Cascades.  General admission is $8 for individuals, $15 for families.  YMCA member:  $4 individuals, $10 families.  This fun fitness event begins today and runs every Thursday through August 31.

The Bohm Theatre in Albion is presenting Transformers:  The Last Knight today at the Bohm I at 7pm.  On the screen at Bohm II is Cars 3 at 6:30pm.
