Red Cross Blood Drive.  The American Red Cross encourages people to share their good health this holiday season by donating blood for patients in need.  A decline in donations occurs from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day when donors are busy with holiday activities and travel.  Make an appointment to give blood by downloading the free Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting redcrossblood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).  Today’s Blood Drive:  12 p.m. – 5:45 p.m., Blackman Township Hall, 1990 W. Parnall Road, Jackson.  All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. 

Holiday Model Train Open House.  All aboard this wonderful 27 x 34 full scenery 16 running train hobby Lionel O Scale layout that also features a full LEGO city block with two running LEGO trains and monorail.  Many new attractions throughout the whole display  Hosts are Rev. John and Karol Morris and family.  Free will offering to benefit Habitat for Humanity and Jackson Chorale Scholarship Fund.  10461 Pauline Drive, Jackson.  (Off Wolf Lake Road in Napoleon).  2 PM to 5 PM, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 

Holiday Classics at The Bohm Theatre.  Come see your favorite holiday classic films at the Bohm. Each classic will be shown on Friday mornings at 10:00 AM and again the following Saturday morning at 11:00 AM. Admission for these matinees are offered at our reduced classic price of $3.  November 24th & 25th:   Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

The MHSAA State Football Championships. Games are today and tomorrow in Detroit.  Today, Lumen Christ plays Ithaca for the Division 6 State Title at Ford Field.

Brooklyn’s Annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting.  Festivities begin at 5:00 p.m. and include Carols by Cornerstone Community Church, Live Reindeer on the Village Square, bonfire, chili, hot dogs, performances and activities at local businesses.  The parade begins at 7 PM bringing Santa Claus into town, followed by Tree Lighting ceremony on the Village Square lead by Santa Claus.  7:30 p.m.: Children’s visit with Santa at Brooklyn Village Office.  Gifts for each child from Brooklyn Kiwanis.  Bring your camera!  Activities continue through 9 PM.

Saturday November 25

Art 634 Art Market.  Think outside the “box” and find everything you need for this year’s holiday gift giving at ART 634’s Art Market! Local Artisans, Holiday Art, Christmas Ornaments, Christmas Gifts, do a seasonal Make-N-Take and don’t forget to add your Christmas wish to Santa’s list.  10 AM to 4 PM, Art 634, 634 North Mechanic Street, Jackson.

Small Business Saturday.  Area locally-owned small businesses will be offering specials on products, services and entertainment throughout the day.  Come downtown to shop and dine at your favorite locations!  “Small Business Saturday is about the businesses and the people behind them that make our communities unique. A Visit with Santa Claus.  The Junkyard Dog will have a visit with Santa Claus on November 25th from 12pm to 2pm.  Junkyard Dog, 128 West Michigan Avenue, Downtown Jackson.

Stockbridge Festival of Lights.  Join us for our 6th annual Festival of Lights! On the historic town square, this year has some new and exciting additions. Starting at 4pm-5:30pm, Santa will be in the town hall to visit with the children. More “Elf Stops” have been added to local businesses around the square, where various crafts and activities will be happening. Businesses participate in “Tree Gala” and line the steps up the town hall. We still have our traditional “Gingerbread House” contest, but this year it will be inside the town hall. At 6pm our Festival of Lights parade will be heading down Clinton street with special guests, Princess Elsa and Santa, followed by the lighting of the town square tree. SRSLY concludes the night with a Christmas movie showing in the warmth of the townhall. This festival is FREE family fun and made possible by support from The Village of Stockbridge, the DDA, the Stockbridge Area Chamber of Commerce and Chamber members. Music on Main Street.  The Concord Branch of the Jackson District Library invites you to join us every Saturday in November from 12-2 p.m. for an impromptu music jam!   The Concord Branch Opera House will be open to the public. Bring your instrument (piano provided) and practice some music. Intended for teens & adults.
