After a very warm Saturday with highs approaching 80 in spots, the forecast changes dramatically Sunday with rain showers. Precipitation, possibly heavy in some spots, is expect to last well into the coming week. Monday night through Tuesday looks particularly wet with increasing winds from this strengthening fall storm. Regardless of the details, there is increasing potential for significant rain beginning Monday night and lasting well into Tuesday. We have bumped up precipitation totals over the eastern forecast area with this update in response to these model trends.   Temperatures next week will be seasonably cool with highs in the upper 40s to mid 50s.

Today:  Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 70s. South winds 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight:  Partly cloudy. Lows in the mid 50s. South winds 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday:  Mostly sunny until midday, then partly sunny with a 30 percent chance of rain showers in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 70s. South winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts to around 25 mph.

Sunday Night:  Rain showers likely. Lows in the mid 50s. South winds around 10 mph becoming west overnight. Chance of rain 70 percent.

Monday:  A chance of rain showers until midday, then rain showers likely in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 60s. Southwest winds around 5 mph. Chance of rain 60 percent.

Monday Night:  Rain showers likely. Lows in the upper 40s. Chance of rain 60 percent.

Tuesday:  Periods of rain showers. Highs in the mid 50s. Chance of rain 80 percent.
