Nick Romano

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Spring Arbor University men’s tennis player Nick Romano (Pinckney, MI / Pinckney HS) has been awarded a spot on the 2016 All-Crossroads League Team, announced by the league on Monday.

Romano posted a team-best seven singles wins this fall for the Cougars – all at No. 1. In his first full season at the No. 1 position, the sophomore from Pinckney, Michigan owned an overall record of 7-4, including a 6-3 mark in dual matches. Romano also played at No. 1 doubles where he and teammate Vincent McShane collected four wins during the conference season.

“Nick made a number of significant improvements in his game from last year in both singles and doubles,” said head coach Terry Darling. “He has emerged as one of the best players in our conference and this All-League recognition is well-deserved. Even more impressive to me, though, is that he does this all the right way, dealing with competition as a mature Christian man.”

Spring Arbor has finished its fall schedule and will resume play again this spring.
