SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Spring Arbor University freshman guard Paul Marandet (Warsaw, IN / Warsaw HS) has earned the Crossroads League Men’s Basketball Player of the Week award.

 

Marandet scored a career-high 25 points to lead Spring Arbor to a 62-53 road win over Purdue University Northwest on Friday. The Warsaw, Indiana native made a season-best seven field goals shooting 7-for-10 from the floor. He also made a season-high 10 free throws converting 10-of-12 attempts from the charity stripe. In addition to his scoring, Marandet added four rebounds, three assists and two steals.

 

On the season, Marandet is averaging 11.9 points per game, which is the second-most by any freshman in the league. He is also averaging 4.4 assists per game – the sixth best mark overall in the league.

 

Spring Arbor (10-6, 2-2 CL), which has won five of its last six contests, will open the new calendar year with a home game against Crossroads League foe Goshen College (9-7, 2-2 CL) on Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 7 p.m.
