The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and the City of Jackson will host a public open house to discuss the reconstruction of I-94 Business Loop (BL) (Michigan Avenue) from Brown Street to Louis Glick/Washington Avenue and the two-way conversion on I-94 BL, Louis Glick Highway, and Washington Avenue in downtown Jackson. The public is invited to stop by at any time during the three-hour meeting to learn more about construction.

The meeting will be held Thursday, March 30 from 4 to 7pm at the MDOT University Region Office at 4701 West Michigan Avenue in Jackson.

Currently, I-94 BL in the city of Jackson is operating as a one-way pair, with Louis Glick Highway carrying westbound traffic and Washington Avenue carrying eastbound traffic. The project will allow two-way traffic on both Louis Glick Highway and Washington Avenue using the existing lanes. To accommodate the change, the Michigan Avenue/Louis Glick Highway/Washington Avenue/Wildwood Avenue intersection will be reconstructed to allow for a two-way traffic pattern. Construction is expected to start in mid-April.

Accommodations can be made for persons with disabilities and limited English speaking ability. Large print materials, auxiliary aids or the services of interpreters, signers, or readers available upon request. Please call 517-780-7540 to request at least seven days before meeting date.
