Michigan Community Credit Union was honored to be a sponsor and to be present at Childrenz Challenge for a second year. Childrenz Challenge is a muddy obstacle course designed for children ages 4-13 years of age. Two courses were within the event; ages 4-8 competed on a 1 ½ mile course, and ages 9-13 competed on a 2 mile course.

“We are so thrilled to be a part of an event that promotes a fun and active lifestyle for children. My son has participated the last two years and loved it,” said Tina Hamilton, CEO of Michigan Community Credit Union.

Childrenz Challenge held the Michigan Community Credit Union School Challenge, which awards the top four schools that have the most participating students, based on percentage, with prize money. Childrenz Challenge awarded fourth place with $500 to Ezra Eby Elementary, third place with $1,000 to George Long Elementary, and second place with $1,500 to Queens Elementary. Michigan Community Credit Union awarded $5,000 to Columbia Elementary as the first place winner. Representatives of Columbia Elementary stated that this prize money will be used for their art program. “Michigan Community Credit Union is a big supporter of local schools, and we are very thrilled to be able to award this prize money,” said Hamilton.

Childrenz Challenge’s purpose is to create a fun and entertaining event for children and their families, support the community, and contribute to local charities. “Another year is in the books, and the 2015 Childrenz Challenge was another huge success. Michigan Community Credit Union’s commitment to this event is nothing short of amazing. Their commitment to our School Challenge and awarding $5,000 to our top school is phenomenal! We are extremely grateful for their commitment to this event and are excited to see what this partnership can provide to other schools and our community in the years to come,” said Scott Vitale, President and Founder of Childrenz Challenge. Childrenz Challenge was August 22, 2015 at Michigan International Speedway. For more information, please visit childrenzchallenge.com.
