Jackson, MI. – The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce invites the community to a ribbon cutting celebration in honor of opening of Jackson Public Schools Montessori Center located at 205 Seymour Ave. The ribbon cutting will take place Wednesday, August 19th at 4:30pm, with an open house following.

Jackson Public Schools in partnership with the Felician Sisters will open the JPS Montessori Center in the former Amy Firth School, this center will house the Felician Children’s Center and the JPS Montessori School. Through this collaboration, JPS is able to provide a world-class Montessori public education for 5-8 year olds.

The Felician Children’s Center will provide a fee-based Montessori and child care program for infants, toddlers and preschool-aged children. The Montessori program is a unique educational experience with small classroom sizes and developmentally appropriate curriculum. The youth will also have the opportunities to join in music, art and foreign language classes.

The Montessori Center will have open houses for the interested families and the public to come visit the school and teachers on Wednesday August 19th from 5-7pm and Thursday August 20th 9am – Noon. The Center will also be open every Monday – Thursday 9-11am for tours and enrollment.
