Patti Poppe, Consumers Energy Vice President, Customer Experience, Rates & Regulation announced the company has joined the Detroit Institute of Arts in the “Detroit Grand Bargain”, pledging towards the commitment to help raise $100 million.  Consumers joins about a dozen other businesses and institutions pledging $26 million as part of a “grand bargain” that will help the City of Detroit emerge from bankruptcy, support city pensioners and protect the museum’s art collection for the public.  Poppe said, “As a 127-year company serving Michigan, Consumers Energy understands the vital need to support our communities. We’re pleased to join other Michigan corporations in this historic initiative to help move Detroit’s economic recovery forward.”  Other guests:  Team 1 Plastics President Craig Carrel;  Shane LaPorte, candidate for county commission;  BuilderWalk with General Materials and Andy Woell;  Catina Lowe and Lindsay Wyble, American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life;  Ric Walton, The Walton Insurance Group Big Prize Bucket.
