The Michigan Department of Transportation will oversee a project to repair nine bridges along I-94 between Airport Road and the Jackson/Calhoun county line.  The project is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 9 and continue through November, 2016.

The I-94 bridges on the repair docket are:

– M-99 over I-94,

– Gibbs Road over I-94,

– I-94 over Concord Road,

– Michigan Avenue over I-94,

– I-94 over Parma Road,

– Dearing Road over I-94,

– Sandstone Road over I-94,

– Blackman Road over I-94, and

– Airport Road over I-94.

Traffic impacts on the overall project will be minimized as repair will be done in stages.  There will be single-lane closures on I-94, with local roads closed and traffic detoured.

Starting May 9, there will be nighttime single-lane closures on I-94 between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for shoulder upgrades in preparation of the bridge work, which is expected to start after the Memorial Day holiday.
